AGHS Jazz Ensemble
The AGHS Jazz ensemble is an audition based ensemble with limited instrumentation that is designed to teach students musical and stylistic concepts related to Americas most original art form. Students who wish to participate in Jazz band must indicate this on their chair audition form. The top members from each available section will be chosen to participate.
Typical instrumentation for the Jazz ensemble is:
5 Saxophones
4 Trumpets
4 Trombones/Baritones
A rhythm section consisting of Drum Set, Piano, Bass Guitar, Electric Guitar, and Auxiliary Percussion
Optional instrumentation:
Clarinets and flutes may be included if necessary or given an excellent audition.
The Jazz ensemble will perform on both the Christmas and Spring concerts.
