AGHS Color Guard
About Us
As a member of the color guard, we have the privilege of marching in many parades as well as performing during halftime at all of the football games. Color guard is like one big family. We spend so much time together over the summer, during rehearsals, and throughout the school year that it is hard not to become a family. Being part of the team means that everyone involved is always working to make sure they know the routines and make them clean. Even though it is hard work, it has been the best experience I have had all 4 years of high school. I wouldn’t trade the experiences I have had for anything in the world. For the last 2 years I have been the color guard section leader. I have loved every moment of it and it has taught me so much about being a better leader. We have many obligations as being part of the band that makes a section leader stressful at times. Everyone wants to have the routines perfect so at times when things don’t go as planned it can become hard to work together. Having friendships outside of the band has made moments like that easier to deal with because we know we are all working hard to accomplish the same goal. Overall, being part of the color guard has given me, and the other members, the chance to become family and make lasting friendships.
